Portuguese workers are taking over the Swiss labour market.
According to data from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office, there are approximately 160,000 Portuguese people currently working in Switzerland, especially in the industry and commerce sectors, where half this number is employed.
Data also shows that between the third quarter of 2012 and the third quarter of this year, the number of foreign workers grew 3.2%, while the number of Swiss workers dropped 0.5%.
Recent data shows that another 15,874 Portuguese arrived in Switzerland at the end of last summer.
