AN EMERGENCY operation took a bizarre turn when the patient started shedding green blood. The scene in Vancouver resembled an episode of the X-Files.
The man was suffering from a rare blood condition whereby his red blood cells had been absorbing sulphur from his migraine medication, causing the strange colouring. The illness called “compartment syndrome” was caused by restricted blood flow in both lower legs after falling asleep in a sitting position.
