Pousadas de Portugal, the state-owned chain of hotels run by the Pestana group, has launched a new package, entitled ‘Rotas com História’ (Routes with History), that aims to showcase the history of the Algarve’s hotels.
Guests will have an opportunity to enjoy a five-night holiday experience in the Algarve by staying at the Pousadas of Sagres, Estoi and Tavira.
The Sagres Pousada was once a fortress, the Estoi Pousada was a palace and the Tavira Pousada was a convent, but all three of them were later converted into luxurious retreats owned by the state but managed by a private group.
By reserving this new holiday experience, people can experience what it is like to stay at all three of these Pousadas while also enjoying a special leisure and gastronomy programme.
