Price of electricity “likely to keep climbing”

The price of electricity within the Iberian market “will maintain its tendency for growth”, with market operator Omie predicting an increase of 34%. This translates into a megawatt costing €341,06 in Portugal (slightly more in Spain) with a maximum ceiling of €394 in Portugal (€400 in Spain). These numbers correspond with the ‘third highest value ever’, reports Expresso, with the situation unlikely to improve for many months to come.
