THE MAYOR of the South Chicago suburb of Lynwood in the US has ordered that fines of 25 dollars (15 euros) are to be issued to anyone showing three inches or more of their underwear in public.
The new law aims to discourage people from wearing their trousers too low and showing too much underwear.
Eugene Williams, who is calling the new law a “hot topic”, has said that young men walk around half-dressed and are keeping major retailers and economic development away.
The American Civil Liberties Union says the new law targets young men of colour.
