Company workers from Transtejo, the company that operates the ferries across Lisbon’s Tagus River, will hold a 24-hour strike from midnight, which is expected to have a crippling effect on the Montijo, Setúbal, Almada and Lisbon to Trafaria routes.
The workers decided on the 24-hour strike in protest to planned salary cuts. The Transtejo group has announced that due to the strike, it will not be able to guarantee normal transport services, despite the fact that there are minimum services decreed by the Arbitration Court of the Economic and Social Council (CES).
