archaeological excavations on a Roman villa which stopped 20 years ago have begun again in Beja.
The site, three kilometres south of Ferreira do Alentejo, was discovered in 1981 by archaeologists Clementino Amaro and Manuel Barreto. It was the scene of six archaeological digs before work was interrupted.
The new excavations, 20 years after the last one took place, will centre around the discovery on olive oil press and will continue until September 21.
