A BRITISH boy was in court last week charged with assault on a 77-year-old man. The pensioner had reported to the police that the 12-year-old child threw a stone at him but it later turned out to be a cocktail sausage that was the weapon of choice.
Police said they had no choice but to proceed with the case as the youth had been issued with three reprimands on separate occasions. The judge has urged prosecutors to launch a review of the case.
