FEIRA NOVA is the cheapest hypermarket in Portugal, according to a study by consumer defence organisation, DECO.
The study compared prices in a number of hypermarkets throughout the country and found that Feira Nova came out on top, followed by Continente.
DECO compared 66,000 prices, 572 establishments and 113 locations. It found that Aldi and Plus are the cheapest supermarkets when it comes to ‘non-branded’ items.
According to the study, due to be published in September, Lisbon is the most expensive region to go shopping and the north and Central Portugal are the cheapest.
Faro is the only location in the Algarve with a Feira Nova supermarket.
