Free screening tests of the HPV (Human papillomavirus) to help prevent cervical cancer are being held at the Hospital Particular do Algarve, in Gambelas-Faro, on November 25, 27 and 29 and December 2.
The screenings – an initiative organised by the Algarve Oncology Association – are available for young women aged between 18 and 24.
HPV is presently the major cause of cervical cancer and early detection can prevent the disease.
Appointments are necessary.
