The Algarve Tourism Board President has recently held meetings with representatives of various sectors linked to the tourism industry in the region.
Last week Desidério Silva met with EVA Transportes representatives to discuss bus services in the Algarve, including creating a direct bus link from Faro centre to the airport, the main gateway into the region for international tourists.
The tourism leader also met with the directors of the Portuguese Association of Recreational Ports to talk about the region’s nautical infrastructures, namely Lagos, Portimão, Albufeira and Vilamoura marinas, which are up against strong competition from Spain. The two entities will be joining forces to increase the competitiveness of Algarve marinas.
The Institute of Employment and Professional, a vital partner in tourism, also held a meeting with the Algarve Tourism Board in order to deliver better information to tourism entrepreneurs about support measures to reinforce professional training in the hotel sector and related businesses.
