NEW LAWS in Portugal have extended the time in which a sexual crime against children can be investigated as well as making the possession of pornographic images of children a crime punishable by prison.
According to the new penal code, a victim can now press charges against a paedophile until the age of 23.
The possession of child pornography can now lead to between one and five years in prison or up to eight years if used for lucrative purposes.
