In possibly the most spectacular display of hip hop excess, Snoop Dogg has attempted to hire an entire country for a video shoot.
He had plans to make use of central European country Liechtenstein to shoot a video, but didn’t allow enough time to work through the paperwork.
Liechtenstein property agent Karl Schwaerzler said: “We’ve had requests for palaces and villages but never one to hire the whole country before. It would not have been possible because Snoop Dogg’s management did not give us enough time.”
The government has denied any deal to rent out the whole country, with Liechtenstein’s US ambassador Claudia Fritsche saying that “there is no For Rent sign on our country. No part of any government agency is involved in this”.
However, Trip Atlas Travel Company reports that “in June 2003 the state tourism agency decided to give a boost to the country’s tourism by offering to rent out the country to businesses and other organisations for conference hosting, weddings, or other such events.”
