Stiletto stampede

STILETTO CLAD women in Sydney competed in an 80-metre sprint to win their place in the record books on Tuesday.

More than 260 women, plus a few men, slipped on their heels of at least three inches in a bid to cross the finish line in first place and collect prize money of 5,000 Australian dollars (almost 3,000 euros).

Brittney McGlone, a professional 400 metre hurdler, scooped first place.

Others were not so successful and failed to complete the race due to stiletto related injuries.

The racers broke the record for most people in a stiletto sprint, beating the efforts of participants in Holland in March earlier this year.
