Improving the lives of homeless people in the Tavira council is the mission of the local Red Cross branch.
A team from the Tavira Cruz Vermelha is distributing blankets, clothing and food to a number of homeless people on a weekly basis and is looking for donations from people who are willing to help their cause.
According to data compiled by the Tavira Red Cross, cases of extreme poverty and social exclusion are increasing in the council.
A spokesman said: “It’s often the case that people living in some of the harshest conditions imaginable do not seek help.”
