For the 22nd consecutive year, the afpop Tax Seminars will be held in association with euroFinesco at the end of January and beginning of February. The seminars take place “at a very opportune time” for those who are obliged to issue a tax declaration in Portugal for the past tax year (2017) and for 2018 and future years.
The dates for the seminars are Wednesday, January 31 at Boavista Golf Clubhouse, Lagos; Friday, February 2 at the Real Marina Hotel, Olhão; and Tuesday, February 6 at the Conrad Hotel, Quinta do Lago, Almancil, all starting at 11am – registration and coffee from 10.30am.
The seminars aim to provide the information residents and people moving to Portugal need to know about their individual obligations for presenting their tax declarations to the Finanças; the tax rates and deductions and credits that are available; ways to submit annual declarations; double taxation treaties; the penalties for either false declaration or late submissions; and upcoming changes in legislation which may be imposed.
“The presenters from euroFinesco will give impartial advice about all matters to do with individual taxation,” said afpop. “They will answer questions which are considered of general interest in the open forum and are also on hand to give more specific personal advice, after the group session has been completed.”
For those people who cannot attend but would like the information, the packs will be available after the event at the cost of seminar attendance.
Attendance costs €15 for afpop members (€5 for a second member per booking) and €30 for non-members.
