A SPATE of thefts in a retirement home prompted a 95-year-old German woman to set a trap to catch the elusive lawbreaker.
She left money out in her room and lay in wait in the bathroom. When a cleaner walked into the room and took the money, the elderly lady pulled the emergency cord and staff stormed the room. The 36-year-old cleaner confessed to the other thefts and was immediately sacked.
