The two young children of firefighter Catarina Pedro, killed on Saturday as she went to the aid of a driver who had suffered an accident (click here), are to receive a “pension” from the State for the “exceptional and relevant services” their mother gave the country. The funeral with a ‘guard of honour’ took place yesterday with secretary of state for the ministry of interior Patrícia Gaspar in attendance.
