Turismo do Algarve is reported to be ‘worried about queues’ that have been forming at Faro airport as thousands of passengers arrive ahead of the region’s MotoGP at the Algarve International Autodrome, and the Portugal Masters golf championship in Vilamoura. Long queues started to build up in the middle of the month before SEF increased the number of inspectors it had processing passports. According to SIC, the last 15 days have seen 170,000 passengers arrive by plane in Faro, more than 70% of them from the United Kingdom.
