Portugal’s vaccination ‘open house’ policy – allowing age groups that should already have been vaccinated to enter any health centre and ‘catch up’ with the programme – has been temporarily suspended today due to the sudden ‘shortage’ of vaccines prompted by the suspension of a batch of Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) doses following unexplained ‘side effects’ experienced by an ‘indeterminate number of people’ in Mafra (see below for details).
