Dr. Reinfried Pohl, the German businessman who owns Vila Vita Parc, the prestigious five star resort located near Porches, Lagoa, has donated a total of €50,000, to be divided equally between 10 local associations.
They are: Centro de Apoio Social de Porches, Associação dos Amigos para o Desenvolvimento da Mexilhoeira da Carregação, ADR – Centro Cultural e Social da Quinta de S. Pedro, Centro de Apoio a Idosos de Ferragudo, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Estômbar, Associação Académica de Bela Vista, Lagoa Académico Clube, Grupo Desportivo de Lagoa, ACD de Ferragudo and ACD Che-Lagoense.
The donations were presented to the associations’ representatives at Vila Vita Parc on November 22, in a ceremony presided over by Manuel Cabral, resort administrator representing Dr. Reinfried Pohl, and attended by Rui Correia, Deputy Mayor of Lagoa, as well as councillors Jaime Botelho and Ana Branco.
The criteria for the selected associations were related to how the donations would be used to finish ongoing building works, or to develop essential repairs in the associations’ facilities.
Lagoa Municipality commented that the donation by Dr. Reinfried Pohl was a “meaningful philanthropic action”.
