A British hotel chain has banned the use of vuvuzelas after a manager was kept awake by overzealous England fans tooting on the plastic horns.
A spokesman for Premier Inn said: “Fans were blowing horns in the bar during the match between England and Algeria and outside the hotel as they left to go on to clubs and bars. They were causing such a racket that the manager himself was kept awake.” Th e spokesman added that after problems in several hotels in Britain, staff at the chain are emphatic that they do not want people playing them anymore.
“Guests who bring horns into our bars will be asked to take them back to their rooms, even if they are not playing them.” Th e ban will continue in the hotels until the end of the World Cup. However, it will be extended if the problem persists.
