THERE IS only one week left to get your entries in for The Resident’s competition to win a meal for two people at one of the four restaurants across the Algarve.
All you have to do is write and tell us which is your favourite meal and choose up to six people you would share it with (dead or alive), and explain your reasons for your choices.
Jompra restaurant, in Sesmarias, near Albufeira, has a variety of different cuisines and starters include avocado filled with prawns and main dishes include duck, chicken, lamb or steak and an array of fish including salmon. Homemade desserts or ice creams are the icing on the cake of the perfect dining experience.
La Bagatella has proved a popular and successful Italian restaurant in Alvor and dishes are homemade and typically Italian. The menu includes pizzas and pastas as well as tiramisu, pancakes and original Italian ice creams. Other dishes include vegetarian salads and various meat dishes including picanha, tournedos or chicken.
Local ingredients interpreted with an original twist is the theme at the No Pátio restaurant, in Lagos. Dishes include light salads, roasted asparagus and pan fried sea bass in the spring and summer, and hot dishes such as Sunday roasts, honey roasted duck breasts and cauliflower cheese in the winter.
The owners of O Limoeiro (The Lemon Tree) in Almancil, Robert Armour and Anne Pattis, describe their food as Portuguese with a twist. The atmosphere is family friendly, unpretentious and relaxed. Dishes are typically Portuguese, including pork alentejano, and homemade desserts include banoffee pie and After Eight chocolate mousse.
