BY SEPTEMBER 2007 this year, 41,397 women aged between 50 and 65-years-old from the Algarve’s 16 boroughs will have taken part in the breast cancer screening programme launched in September 2005 by the Associacão Oncológica do Algarve (AOA).
The AOA provided the Algarve with a Mobile Mammography Unit following the staging of various fundraising initiatives including the hugely popular Mamamaratona runs.
