Large crowds, upgrades and a renewed focus on showcasing Algarve artists helped shape another successful edition of Fatacil, Lagoa’s bustling summer fair.
Held from August 22 to 31, the event featured a series of key improvements which organisers say contributed to a smoother experience. Chief among the upgrades was a new and expanded food court, which offered a more comfortable and diverse dining experience, as well as the new Algarve Stage, which gave local artists an opportunity to shine. Organisers also worked on improving the experience at the fairground’s entry points, even during the busiest days.

While overall attendance remained on par with previous years, a highlight of the event was the performance by local artist Badoxa, which drew an estimated 25,000 people to the venue on a single day.
“FATACIL is more than a fair; it’s a showcase of the best that Lagoa and the Algarve have to offer,” said Lagoa mayor Luís Encarnação. “This edition proved, once again, Fatacil’s ability to improve and enhance the visitor experience.”
With a sense of mission accomplished, the municipal council is already preparing for the next edition, scheduled for August 21 to 30, 2026.
