A wet and warm 2010

Data collected from the Portuguese meteorological office has shown 2010 to be the wettest year of the past decade, with precipitation levels 20% higher than the average.

More than 1,000 millimetres of rain fell during 2010, with March being the wettest month of the entire year with so much rain that it entered the record books as the third wettest month in the past 30 years.

The 2010 weather report shows that it was also a warmer year than average, with minimum temperatures being 0.14°C higher and maximum temperatures registering an average of 0.33°C higher than normal.
