A restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark, uses only food that is ready to be thrown out by supermarkets to prepare its meals. The food Rub & Stub uses is discarded for many reasons, such as its shape or appearance or its closeness to an expiry date. The restaurant is run by 70 volunteers who work in the kitchen, waiting tables or collecting the food from providers. Its profits are then donated to charities in Sierra Leone.
