Praia da Falésia in Albufeira is the only Portuguese beach on a list of the world’s best as voted by the users of online travel website TripAdvisor.
The beach is placed 12th on a list of 25, with 65% of travellers rating Falésia as “excellent” and 28% as “very good”.
It is one of the most popular beaches in the Algarve, attracting scores of families especially in the summer. The beach stretches along the coast for almost seven kilometres and gets its name from its unusually orange cliffs (‘falésias’ in Portuguese).
Topping TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards is Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos (Caribbean), often placing in the top spots of international rankings.
