THE SPANISH real estate group donpiso is to begin an ambitious plan to open 156 offices in Portugal over the next 10 years.
This month, offices will be opened in Vila Real de Sº António and Monte Gordo, followed by openings in Portimão and Vilamoura by the end of the year and, in 2008, Tavira, Olhão, Albufeira and Lagos.
The donpiso franchise was acquired in Portugal by Gefranque, Gestão de Franquias, S.A., which plans to invest 9.3 million euros to open the real estate offices throughout the Algarve, Porto and Lisbon.
The investment will create around 700 jobs, the training for which will take place at ESI, Escola Superior de Imobiliária (Real Estate School) in Barcelona, Madrid and Seville – another of these schools is planned for Portugal.
Donpiso, created in 1984 in Barcelona, currently employs 1,500 people and has some 9,400 properties on its books.
