AN AMBULANCE collided with a railing at high speed in Faro last week, after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The two occupants, who were responding to an emergency call near the airport, walked away from the accident unhurt. It was later revealed that the driver was subcontracted to work for the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and had only been driving ambulances for six months. According to a spokesperson at INEM, “all drivers try to respond to calls as fast as possible and accidents can happen”.
