Algarve-based supermarket chain Apolónia has been voted the gourmet shop of the year 2010 by the Portuguese magazine Gala Revista dos Vinhos.
A spokesman for Gala Revista dos Vinhos said: “Entering Apolónia is a very different experience to most supermarkets. All the stock is of high quality, while the cellar of wines includes Portuguese and international choices, all at competitive prices.”
The spokesman added: “You can find almost everything here from meats and cheeses to sausages and patés and chocolates and coffees. Very few shops in Portugal are comparable and, combined with the attentive and knowledgeable staff, this is why Apolónia has been acknowledged as the gourmet shop of the year.”
