The Algarve’s health authority (ARS Algarve) has announced a new service to provide home-based palliative care for people affected by life-limiting illnesses in the Western Algarve.
It consists of a team of health professionals, including doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers, who will be based at Lagoa’s health centre. The service is due to start at the end of March. ARS Algarve already has a palliative care team working in the Eastern Algarve.
