NEW LEGAL and food hygiene rules that apply to the food outlets and restaurants will be under the spotlight as a special conference is being held in the Algarve next week.
António Nunes, president of ASAE, the national authority for food safety and commercial activities, will be the main speaker at the conference to be held at Portimão Arena on Monday (July 2).
He was invited by Expo Arade and Associação da Restauração e Similares de Portugal (a national restaurant owners association) to explain the new rules approved by the government.
The conference starts at 3pm and will include details of what ASAE is doing to help restaurant and food outlet owners adopt, and adjust, to the new rules.
ASAE inspectors have been busy recently carrying out inspections at restaurants and bars in the Algarve and more are expected throughout the summer season.
