Two men suffered head injuries after being attacked in Portimão and Lagos last week.
These are the latest in a number of incidents, believed to involve local youngsters, next to the Parque da Companheira, Portimão, where two police officers were put on patrol for a week.
The Lagos man was hit from behind with a machete-like weapon, before being taken to hospital. He was released with stitches in his head. His attacker was caught a few kilometres away.
