Five beaches in the Loulé council area have been put forward as candidates for the ‘Seven Wonders – Algarve Beaches’ contest.
Vilamoura and Quarteira are candidates in the Urban Beaches category, Vale do Lobo in the Cliff Beaches category and Garrão Poente and Quinta do Lago in the Dune Beaches category.
The 7 Maravilhas – Praias do Algarve, aims to promote environmental quality in the country, particularly its water resources and coastline.
Winners will be announced live on RTP1 TV channel on September 8.
