Che Lagoense finished in a highly respectable fifth place at last week’s badminton European Club Champions Cup in France. The Algarveans beat group rivals BC Milan and Fiederball Sheffleng from Luxembourg to qualify for the final stages, but were subsequently eliminated by Dutch side BC Amesfoort. This was the second highest placing by a Portuguese club in this competition following União Santana’s third place in 2006.
