AROUND TWO thousand pregnant women took part in the second Barrigas de Amor, tummies of love, event in Parque dos Poetas, Oeiras, on Sunday, to raise awareness of the birth-rate problem in Portugal.
A petition to create a national birth-rate day on September 9, 2009, was also signed by thousands of participants during this event.
Carlos Noivo, a spokesman for the event said: “We have a petition on our website, which we want to submit to the government.”
