TIM ‘TNT’ Thomas, Britain’s top Thai boxer and ISKA world champion, is ready to rake on allcomers at the Dynamite 6 world Thai boxing championship at Albufeira bull-ring next weekend.
Tim, from Bedford in England, never planned to become a martial arts fighter but has done very well for himself and will be representing Great Britain in the championship.
He told The Resident: “I never thought I would get into martial arts but in 2000 a friend of mine was attacked and wanted to learn a martial art so I went to the classes with him for support.” By the following year, Tim was ready to compete and he had his first fight.
He said this was not his first visit to Portugal: “I was there in 2003 for the European boxing championships and I made it to the finals having fought four fights in five days, but was unfortunately defeated by my Lithuanian opponent.” Tim is looking forward to returning to Portugal and, hopefully, winning the world title.
He trains around four times a week and works out at the gym five times a week in order to prepare himself for events such as the world championship. Tim’s first opponent in Albufeira will be Portuguese Paulo ‘Matador’ Telmo. To his fans, Tim said: “I hope I put on a good show and that my fans enjoy it and continue to support me”. In the near future, he has a few other fights planned and hopes to be defending a world title.

Congratulations to Alice Madeira and Alexandra Hanson, winners of last week’s VIP Dynamite 6 ticket competition!
