Portimão is hosting a cancer awareness walk and run on October 12, as part of the “Pink October” celebration. The event, which will take participants along the city’s waterfront this Sunday, aims to raise awareness about the importance of early breast cancer diagnosis.
The walk, which can also be a run for those who wish, offers two routes: one is five kilometres long and the other is eight kilometres long. Both will start at 10:00 at the Largo da Antiga Lota, on the Portimão waterfront, and will also pass by Portimão Marina.
Reception is scheduled to open at 09h00, followed by a demonstration of the “Pink Portimão” municipal project at 09h15, and a warm-up session led by VivaGym at 09h40.
Registration is mandatory and can be completed here.
Although participation is free, participants are encouraged to purchase the official “Pink October” charity kit, which includes insurance, water, and a T-shirt, costing €5 each, with proceeds going to the Portuguese League Against Cancer.
