Celebrating 35 years of wealth management

Wealth management group Blevins Franks is celebrating 35 years of business within the financial sector.

The pan-European company, which advises the wealth management of UK expatriates, has grown from a chartered accountancy practice into a group of financial services companies now employing 150 members of staff .

Blevins Franks specialises in international tax and investment planning and has offices throughout Portugal, Spain, France, Cyprus and Malta with the international division of Blevins Franks currently advising expatriate clients on more than one billion euros worth of assets.

Although the current economic climate has seen many financial service companies struggling to stay afl oat Blevins Franks has managed to improve its standing within the sector according to David Franks, the founding director and chief executive of the company.

“Against this backdrop I am delighted to be able to say that at Blevins Franks we have increased our presence and support by opening more offices in Europe while we have extended the range of our services to private clients. We have also invested in the company to further improve the ongoing support and advice that we off er clients.” Blevins Franks has opened three new offices in France in the past two years while it has also expanded operations in Mallorca and also here in the Algarve.

Meanwhile, the central operation offices for the company, in Malta, were relocated in March, marking the company’s confidence in future growth.

During a visit to the office by the Prime Minister of Malta, Lawrence Gonzi, David Franks said: “We are holding our heads high in the knowledge of providing an excellent service from our base in Malta and our overseas offices.” As the company continues to grow, so do the services that it offers including new tax planning for expats who are returning to the UK and foreign exchange.

Blevins Franks are also now dealing with issues relating to Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Schemes (QROPS) and recently Qualifying Non-UK Pension Schemes (QNUPS) and were one of the first companies to advise on the new schemes which can reduce local taxes and UK inheritance tax on expatriates investable wealth.
