From August 26 a new weekly visa service will be in operation at the British Embassy in Lisbon.
The UK Border Agency, in partnership with WorldBridge, will be operating a mobile biometric clinic to enable customers in Portugal to supply their biometric information, required to apply for a UK visa, without having to travel to another UK Border Agency office outside Portugal.
The use of this new service is subject to a fee of €152.52 in addition to the visa fee.
However, customers who do not want to use the Mobile Biometric Clinic in Lisbon will still be able to apply directly at another UK Visa Application Centre outside Portugal.
Those wanting to apply for a visa are still able to lodge their applications online by visiting www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk and after they pay the fee they will be given the option to make an appointment for the biometric clinic in Lisbon.
The clinic will be open every Friday from 10am until 2pm by appointment only.
