Charitable Masters raise €30,000

In a kind gesture, all the 40 pros who played in the pro-am event on the eve of the Portugal Masters donated their €100 appearance money to ACCA, the official charity of the event which supports children in need in the Algarve. The Tour Players Foundation (charitable arm of the Tour) matched this contribution raising a total of €8,000 and the spectators played their part by making donations in exchange for copies of the daily draw sheets and official programme.

The grand total raised is a staggering €30,000, which will make a substantial difference in the lives of the children ACCA cares for and supports.

Wanda Crawford, president of ACCA, said: “What an amazing experience! We feel privileged to have been appointed the Charity of the Year at this year’s Masters. This €30,000 will go a long way in our ongoing quest of helping underprivileged children and institutions in the Algarve. ACCA has a very dedicated team of volunteers who played a huge role in this event. The final figure has surpassed all our expectations.”
