Lagos Camâra will be making a cut of €400,000 in annual expenses on cleaning services because of the current financial crisis.
At present, the municipality spends €1.2 million every year on cleaning services in the council but has decided to cut this budget to €800,000.
Lagos Mayor Júlio Barroso said: “We will try to keep the council clean in spite of these reductions, however some areas will not be cleaned so often.”
Lagos Câmara has lost €30 million in revenue in the past three years due to the economic crisis.
