THIS WEEKEND (Saturday and Sunday) the fifth cockle festival will take place at the Polidesportivo da Figueira in Mexilhoeira Grande, Portimão.
The festival has been organised by the Sociedade Recreativa Figueirence, Figueira’s recreational society. Dishes will include cockle pasta, cockle rice, cockle filled pastries and plain cockles.
The festival, which will include popular Portuguese music, will open at 7pm each day and end around 1am. Tickets costing 2.5 euros.
