FOR THE third consecutive year, a cockle festival will be held in the village of Figueira, near Lagos, on September 10 and 11, from 7.30pm until midnight, at the Polidesportivo da Figueira – sports arena. Visitors to the event can enjoy the delicacy served in several different ways: cooked with pasta or rice, as a filling in small pancakes, a thick broth with bread or just au natural! For those who are not so fond of cockles, an alternative option will be roast chicken or octopus salad. Bon appetit!
