THE FIRST crematorium in the central region of Portugal was inaugurated on Saturday in Figueira da Foz.
According to Lídio Lopes, a spokesman for Figueira da Foz Câmara, the services of this crematorium, which represents an investment of 1.5 million euros, may be requested by anyone in the country.
The complex includes two funerary rooms, a chapel for up to 70 people, a florist and a mortuary.
A cafeteria and babysitting service are also available for visitors.
