A MOLDAVIAN crime ring has been busted in the Algarve following investigations lasting a year-and-half.
Eight people were detained and a number of illegal fire arms and other items including cars were apprehended.
The investigation by the Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras, the foreigners and borders office, earlier this week saw 25 searches taking place mainly between Portimão and Lagos.
The Moldavian cell was one of the most active crime organisations in the region, dedicated to the illegal exploitation of labour in the construction trade, falsification of documents, extortion, theft, slavery and so on.
