BEACHES AFFECTED by the accidental dumping of crude oil last week are completely clean, according to the administration of Sines Port in the Alentejo.
It is reported that the dumping happened as preparations were being made to discharge the oil from a tanker, the Isi Olive.
The beaches, Vasco da Gama, Morgavel, Vieirinha and Praia Grande of Porto Covo, all have European blue flag classification.
The Portuguese navy is investigating the Sines Port Administration’s role and responsibilities in the incident.
