THE RECENTLY announced Grand Fashion Sale, to benefit children in Phuket affected by the tsunami, has already drawn a huge response. Hundreds of women across the Algarve have taken the opportunity to ‘spring clean’ their wardrobes and sell or donate their quality fashion items to the sale, which is taking place at the Almancil Community Centre on Monday, March 14 and Tuesday, March 15 from 9.30am to 6pm.
Clothes from designers including Chanel, Benny Ong, Joseph Janard, Armani and Angelo Marani will be at the sale. “It’s going to be a rush to get the best bargains,” said one of the organisers, Linda Taylor Gonçalves. “People have put in some beautiful items and a Chanel suit for 50 euros is a true bargain!” Buganvilia Properties of São Brás, which sells property in Thailand, has donated a complete collection of silk fashion.
