STATISTICS FROM drug trafficking officials at a press conference in Lisbon revealed that Faro seized the largest amount of cocaine in 2006,
compared to any other region in Portugal.
The nine tons apprehended in the region represented 26 per cent of the total national amount seized.
Cocaine represented 80 per cent of all drugs apprehended in 2006.
